My day ended with a lovely BBQ or *asado*. It was a going away BBQ for Redyn's host brother Mattia. He is headed to Turkey to teach little kids how to play bocce. So cute! Apparently he is like a bocce champion or something. The meat at these asados are AMAZING.
Natalie got back from the trip with her fam, so we are back on track with getting these Patagonia journals posted.
DAY 4.

6am woke up in hostal in Puerto Natales. Packed up in the dark and eat a quick breakfast.
our room in Tin House Patagonia. We loved this hostal! very comfortable beds and common area.
6:40am taxi arrives ($1000 aka 2 USD) to take us to bus Zaajh (?)
7am leave Puerto Natales. ---> 1 hr to edge of Chile. Beautiful sunrise over Argentinian border. Yesterday on the way to the park we were only a few steps from argentina. thanks for telling us, chain-smoking tour guide!

8pm-9am checked out of chile and into argentina! STAMP THAT SH*T!!! *this was our phrase, and has now been coined. we were very excited to cross the boarder into Argentina*
*previous day's goal: completed. *remember- to not get caught with drugs*
9am-12pm- drove thought arg. plaines *spot torres and arrive in el calafate around noon.
12:30pm- exchange chilean $ to arg.
NOTE: 4 arg. pesos= 1 us $
take taxi to hostal (ag$10)
1pm check into America del Sur Hostal-amazing common area with panoramic view of lake, mountains, and town. Rustic wood. rooms are nice enough- 4 people one private bathroom. sharing with two guys, brothers from B.A. (hard to understand!)

1:30pm Head out on the town. Eat AMAZING meal at Viva la Pepa... our new favorite restaurant! LOVED IT. Fantastic. One of those places where everything on the menu is sure to be amazing. We had individual Pizza (Nat- ham cheese, olive. Abby- tomato, cheese, basil, basil sauce). We are going back after the wine tonight to have crepes.

2:30pm Walked around town, down Libertador, the main st. Check out shops, but very pricey, and many shops were closed. I guess they opened later... siesta time?
4pm Bought super expensive but delicious ice cream. cones were about 1/2 the size of this page. (we were writing in the journal, so the page was super small!) this tiny thing cost 3 USD.

5pm went back to hostal, confirmed bus to glacier tomorrow (ag$100)! Hung out for a bit, Abby napped on a random mattress stack-up w/ a blanket on top of it in the loft of the lobby.
7:30pm decided to go out for a drink, found a cute Librobar and bought copa de la casa-vino tinto! (aka a cup of the house wine. ag$20 or 5 USD).
my first ever Argentinean wine!
10:30pm Just ate delicious red berries, homemade whipped cream, chocolate, and honey tower on top. MMMM!... but next time we will probs get bannana or strawberry!... mañana :)
our 2nd time in Viva la Pepa for the day. This was our crepe!! On top was like sugar honey. so good.
---> Thought from a few days ago: On the way home from Torres del Paine, quirky bus driver drove through the tight streets of Puerto Natales, took his hands off the wheel, covered his eyes and yelled "¡sin manos!".
11pm arrive back at hostal. Abby finished pizza and nat had banana + nutella
12:30pm music blaring from lobby. couldn't sleep. make sure to request room further away from the lobby next time.
GOALS for tomorrow: Bad-ass glacier pictures. See glacier chunk/cube fall. Preferably not too close to us.
